Ema The Patriot Cowgirl: The Power Of Thanks
I’ve grown up around cowboys – not just the kind who wear hats, but those who wear the deeper marks of honor, respect, and loyalty. I’ve spent years admiring the ones around me who embody the grit and values that make up our western heritage. But this year, I learned to look for cowboys of a different kind – veterans proudly wearing their hats of honor. In my high school World War II class, I heard the stories of men and women who, at 18, made the life-altering choice to serve our country. Their courage and dedication became a profound reminder to me that these values aren’t just old traditions; they’re alive, relevant, and needed now more than ever.
With that inspiration, I created "Patriot Cowgirl" – a project that merges my love for the western way of life and my gratitude for our veterans. It’s more than a name; it’s a purpose. Patriot Cowgirl is a place to celebrate agricultural heritage, honor those who served, and show that my generation is rooted in traditional values, morals, and faith. We’re not just about “woke” ideas; we’re here to bridge the gap between old and new, honoring the past while embracing the future. My mission is to show the world that young people can be grounded, thankful, and ready to make a positive difference.
Growing up, I’ve always felt a pull to something greater than myself. My faith has been a guiding light, though I'll admit, some days – like when my little sister really tests my patience – it's hard. Still, I strive to walk a path that reflects the values I hold dear. And when I look at the selfless choices of those who served, it’s a humbling reminder that I, too, can live with that same spirit of service.
The values that I learned from both cowboys and veterans have taught me to work hard, be thankful, and never give up on the things that matter. Whether it’s a rodeo, a hard day on the ranch or the challenge of starting a new business, I hold these lessons close. Patriot Cowgirl is my way of bringing this heritage to life. I’m not in it for fame or fortune; I’m in it to make sure that the spirit of gratitude, honor, and resilience that has shaped this country never fades.
So, here I am – a 17-year-old with a deep love for all things western, a heart that respects our veterans, and a determination to honor both. Patriot Cowgirl is my way of standing up for something I believe in. The world may be fast-paced and constantly changing, but I believe that if we remember where we come from, we can steer where we’re going. And, in my own small way, I’m here to make sure that happens.
What an honor to live in a country that on Veterans Day I have the privilege of releasing a book!
